Q. How much does it cost to become a member of NSC? Q. When and where are tryouts? A. Tryouts for each soccer year begin around the second week in June. Specific details including dates, times and location for each age group can be found on the Registration/Tryout link. Q. What should be taken to the tryouts? A. You should bring a ball, water bottle, shin guards and soccer cleats. You will need to bring a parent or guardian to sign in. Q. How long are the seasons? A. The spring season starts in mid-April and ends in mid-June. The fall season starts in late August and ends in late October. Teams also participate in tournaments during the fall and spring. Q: Are uniforms supplied? A: Each player purchases their own uniform through the club see coach for details Q: If my child makes the team this year is he/she automatically on the team next year? A: The tryout is for the fall and spring season (ex: fall 08 and spring 09) If your child makes the team they are guaranteed to be on the team for those two seasons (as long as they follow rules etc.) but then will have to re tryout again the following June for the next year. Q. How many times per week do teams practice? A. In general, teams practice one or two times per week. Some of the more competitive teams will practice three times per week Q: Where are the games played? A: Home games are played either at the Oxbow in Northampton or at a local field in town (see fields). Away games are in towns throughout the Hampshire and Hampden counties. Q. I am a parent, how can I help the NSC? A. NSC is always looking for volunteers. It takes a lot of time and energy to keep the club running - we usually need help in the Spring to clean up the fields and set up all the soccer nets. etc. The same would be true in the Fall we would need help taking all equipment down. You can also approach your players coach as they are often looking for help with the team. They often need help with the paperwork, communication and fundraising.
